Won't ride in the snow and ice. Fell off too many times as a kid.
Won't ride in torrential rain. Don't like to get the bike wet for fear of rust.
However, the cold doesn't bother me. I'm quite happy to take a winter spin as long as the roads are dry and ice free.
In fact, in the winter, I force myself to get on the thing so mostly it's just fun riding anyway.

I had no option but to ride home from Donegal yesterday, arrived at the port of Larne for the 5:30pm crossing to Troon, only to be told that it was now canceled and I would have to travel to Belfast and catch the 7.30pm Stena to Cairnryan. I was soaked through and not a happy camper at all. I did get access to the trucker lounge at Belfast and got a welcome change of clothes.
I got off the ferry at 10:30pm and didn't get home until 1am. I can honestly say I have never experienced wind and rain like it whilst riding, thanks to my heated grips and airflow screen for doing a great job at keeping me slightly more comfortable and the SH300 handled the trip superbly. I felt sorry for one other bloke who I met on the ferry who was riding a yamaha 125cc with L plates, so he couldn't use the motorway to get home to Glasgow and had no screen or heated grips and his riding gear was soaked through. I want to move to Spain.

Well down here the roads are pretty busy all year. During the non school holiday periods I have to
put up with all the retired folk driving at 40mph along a 60mph road. Being theres many farms on my
commute the chances of getting stuck behind a tractor is high.

Then in summer theres the holiday traffic, bloody grockels who have no idea were they're going. So rather than pulling over in a layby and consulting there maps they drive at low speeds and anchor at nearly every turning! Oh and when the suns out you get the weekend warriors/power rangers riding there shiny low mileage bikes. They typically head to a place called West Bay.

As my scoots my only transport I ride all year. Though I won't ride in snow or when theres ice everywhere. However as i'm reliant on my bike to get to work I will ride in heavy rain/high wind/frost/some ice conditions (won't do so for pleasure or any other reason). Luckily most of my commute is gritted, bar my street. I have actually slid on ice before coming down a hill on a corner! Was doing 30mph when the scoot just started to slide. It was heading to the curb. I released the throttle, put both feet down and did not touch the brakes. I managed to regain directional control and after 25-40Metres of sliding I got off the ice and rode of undamaged. I now avoid that particular street during winter.

The only bad weather I hate to ride in but do so anyway is torrential down pour, because cars and lorries just plow through throwing up waves of water soaking pedestrians and bikers unlucky enough to be around rather than take it easy and minimize?
