(OT..) There are still a lot of brand new mk3s hanging around the dealers - who are usually trying to ask almost as much as mk4 for them!pikey wrote:I know a guy with a white 2012 tmax 1600 miles I think its last of mk3's

Re: Help on scooter choice please
GP has grunt, but thats all...and don't forget its a porky 260kg which is around 50 more than a TMax, so that'll blunt the performance gain!iang wrote: and my heart is saying get a tmax but I keep going back to the gp for sheer grunt but the size and handling does worry me .. I
I need someone to tell me something that will help me make my mind up as my sleeps starting to suffer
Something to make your mind up...
1) The TMax is just such FUN to ride!!!!
2) How many TMax riders are on here? How many of them love their Tmaxs to death??? A: Almost all. How many GP/SRV owners are on here????

Yes mk4 is the 530 .Best tmax sites are euro ones tmax mania french tmax group German a lot speak English you can post in English theres Italian sites Spanish sites just have to find tech stuff and use google translate some times comes out gobledy guuk but you get the idea .
basically mk1 was carbed mk2 same engine but twin discs and injected mk 3 restlye engine improvements better torque alloy frame instead of steel tubing Mk 4 restlye and 530 engine .They race them abroad which says it all really
every mk they upped forks tyres ect .I have not looked at Mk4 much so there may be more improvements
Few from German tmax group coming over next august for tour of scotland see ride out section

You wont know till you test ride one or both,or at least sit on them in a showroom. I really wanted an SRV for the grunt, but its not suitable for pillions, due to funny shaped body work in the way of their legs, and its very heavy, I got a shock trying to move it in the showroom, and I have a Burg 650 !
