yes, but you'd have to add the side indicators and the silly hand guards.

You could add them leaving the originals in place as the side plates are interchangeable.
Alternatively you could add some small triangular LEDs where those mock grilles are or simply add some non-flush side repeaters fastened to the fairing wherever you think looks best.
I wouldn't spoil a nice MK1 by converting to the cheaper and ugly Mk2 spec. You will ruin the trade-in/resale value or at least the sale potential.
