New to scoots, just picked up new Sym Joymax 300i

Post by EchoVictor »

Hi

After many years motorcycling I'm having a change of direction to something a bit easier, more fun and less expensive.

Just picked up my new Sym Joymax 300i. This is the 2012/2013 model with 278cc engine and updated styling.

Image

Its already fun and easy (as long as I remember not to pull the 'clutch' lever).

Image

You would think that is has ABS with the sensor there - but I'm not so sure. Linked brakes are very good though.

Image

Decent clocks, although KM only. And yes, the mirrors are very ineffective.

Image

Plenty of storage space.

Image

Just hope weather improves to get some miles on it.

So far quality and ride seem fine. Too much turbulence from the screen though so have ordered a taller one from Tago in Italy.

Anyone else got/getting one of these?

Cheers
Chris

You might easily be the first in the UK with one of these.
Don't think ABS is available anywhere yet, the ring on the front wheel will be used for the speedo.

Congratulations on your fine looking machine.... SYM are generally super reliable so you shouldn't have much in the way of problems... :D

Hello and welcome with a thanks to posting your new scoot.

As gn2 said, you will probably be one of the first in the UK with this new 2013 model. Keep us updated as we are always interested. Was it £4299+otr as advertised by MotoGB? I have noticed that their web site (s) are never the best for keeping the info correct and they still have it shown as 263.7cc and was probably left from their edited GTS 300 page as it's a missmash of both models? http://www.symuk.co.uk/joymax_300cc.php#
