Hello

Post by Nyarlathotep »

Hi folks. I've just joined up having browsed the forums for a little while now. I'm interested in buying a scooter, possibly a 400 Burgman/Majesty or similar, to run in addition to my VFR800 vtec. Seems to make far more sense for commuting and possibly even 1-up touring (my wife won't part with the VFR for 2-up!) so I'm keeping an eye out for advice and other people's experiences.
I'm in the Isle of Man where scooters over 125cc don't seem very popular so will likely have to get on the ferry when I do buy, but I figure it 'll be a good excuse for a shakedown run!

Hello & Welcome to the forum. icon_muppets.png

The new (ish) 350cc X10 or the Beverly seem to be good enough to be worth considering. Plenty of choice out there.

I've lived here over 8 years now so am lucky enough to see plenty of racing. TT is my favorite but the Southern 100 is excellent too and has less waiting around. To avoid the motorways and pain of the Steam Packet you could fly from London (City or Gatwick) in one hour - the Southern circuit is just down the road from the airport.

It's pretty good for cycling out here. I'd certainly come for the Southern 100 or Grand Prix in that case. TT is, in my opinion, too dangerous for push bikes.

Hi again,

can we just call you Crawling Chaos or Lovecraft, they're easier to pronounce than Nyarlathotep... ;)
