I read your post about teh voltage regulator and battery etc. If I ever get to ride the bike I'll check the voltage display whilst doing so. I'll also stick a mulit meter over the battery terminals and check the readings too. It didnt start earlier and I thought the battery was dead but then realised teh front brake lever doesn't work the brake light only the rear brake does. Lol! Still think it might be whatever it is that's been done to the loom as the manual seems to suggest that could throw the light up.I think they've disconnected the actual rear loom and taken a fused supply from elsewhere. I'll know more when I've got under the side cover etc.

just looked at the guide pulley i took off mine as bearing was naff , cant see a circlip for removal on mine, just looks like it will have to be pressed out???
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

The one you linked to on ebay was alloy but the one pictured on Suttons is plastic, but they maybe a library picture? yer the one linked to looks metal, the one i bought is identical to suttons, like the one that i replaced, my old one , i cant see a circlip there is just a lip around outer metal part of bearing, as if you could press it out with the aid of a vise, dont think the plastic is strong enough for a puller, tmax9 might know, but definatly no circlip on the one that i have taken off...

Suttons show the same plastic part for both the Nexus and X9 500 yet both my X9's and my old Nexus had alloy versions, yet they quote a weight of over 500g, thats half a kilo and the alloy roller is about that weight so it is possibly a generic picture. I can't see a plastic one weighing that much. There may be non OEM aftermarket types made of plastic and they have used the same picture.
Mine have lasted 55,000 miles before needing bearing replacing and will never be swapped for plastic ones as long as I can source bearings for £2.88!! A plastic non OEM for £12 may be about right when the OEM alloy one is £28. Possibly Piaggio have superseeded the alloy one with plastic but if they have it shouldn't be £28 should it?
The bearing presses out fairly easily using a socket in a bench vise.
If you already have a new roller, try pressing out the old plastic ones bearing as an experiment as it doesn't matter if it breaks, does it?

Thanks. I've ordered the bearing now so will bid the guy on ebay with the alloy one.

both brakes should work the startor. check the brake switch

I had the same problem which turned out to be a split intake pipe from the airbox to the throttle body. It's a fiddly job but the part was only 13 quid I think. To remove the helmet holder/underseat storage tray is only 6-8 bolts I think, the rest are screws to hold the side panels to it. Where are you from? If you need a hand give me a shout.
