Looking for suggestions for our next European trip. We went to the South of France last year via Switzerland and Italy, staying in Nice for a few nights. This year we went to lake Garda for a few nights, again via Switzerland.
Our criteria: Normally a weeks trip with a range of up to 1200 miles from Calais, some nice twisty, mountain roads, stopping halfway to meet up with the wives who fly out, so somewhere a bit nice and touristy for a couple of nights. This stopover must have a reasonably near airport with a direct flight from any London airport and transfers to the resort of less than an hour, if possible. Not asking for much, am I?
Any ideas?

I went to Hungary last year with the bike group from work. Trip there was brilliant as we kept off the main routes as much as possible and took 4 days to get there. Customs riders there took us out for a lovely ride through Bukki National Park, it would have been nice but for the rain all day!
I would certainly go back there.

Just rode my Beverly 350 down to Barcelona from St Malo and then back Caen to Portsmouth. Spent two weeks having a blast around the Pyrennees. The roads and food are fantastic.
You can read all about it here. The map at the bottom is zoomable and the pointers were dropped by me using a spot messenger.

Both Camprodon and Prullans are very good bases.
Barcelona is always about an hour away from the Eastern Pyrennees on one of the Autovias. This also might give you some ideas. I did the Monte Carlo or Bust trip last year and am doing the Black Forest tour in three weeks time.
