Hi there
Just on the verge of buying my first two-wheeled form of transport for nearly 30 years, and am heading off on Friday to view a 61 plate Gilera Runner ST200, complete with top box, with only 793 miles on the clock
Good purchase?
It's hard to find much in the way of reviews on t'interweb
Anyway, I'm sure I'll get plenty of sound advice during my time here
Bryan

Depends on what you want to use it for.Brimma wrote:Good purchase?
It could be yes, it could be no.
Just get good locks and insurance...
And welcome

Wecome Bryan, dont buy till you have ridden at least two different scoots, or you will fall into the trap of first one seen - first one got... then reflect afterwards, there are a lot of scoots out there, you might find the fuel tank capacity and the dual carriageway use restrictive on certain scoots... if you need advise ask away, but its what ever you also feel comfortable on, and if going two-up ..

I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Intended use initially will just be to go out and have fun on something with a little bit of power available not to struggle with occasional dual carriageway runs
I won't be carrying a pillion, and won't be doing massive mileages
I take it from what you say that it is susceptible to disappearing acts, it is, apparently, data tagged if that helps

Re: Hi everyone.......buying soon
I had the older gilly xvr 200... a fun scoot 200cc in a little chassis...
the older style ones were a big hit wiv da youf - so locks are a good idea...
at that low mileage - should of had its first (and maybe second) Service - do an oil & filter change - easy to work on...
Check the front 'zorst bit... they rust like a Austin All-Agro! maybe a coat of VHT paint - and get at the head studs / nuts with some coppa slip now as the seize solid...
Should be no other issues at that mileage...
right time of year, enjoy yourself zipping about on a nimble runner....
