Aprilia atlantic sprint 500

Post by BenR »

Hi all. I sold my gilera nexus a couple of weeks ago & find myself in the situation of missing not having a scoot. I still have my GSXR but don't ride it. To cut a long story short I've found a lovely aprilia atlantic sprint (the good looking one) 500 on ebay for £2250. It's on an 06 plate with nearly 30000 miles I think the price is a bit steep but I'm thinking of trading the gixxer in for it. Opinions?

Forgot to say the gixxer is in fine fettle. I did an oil & filter change along with a new air filter & spark plugs & 2 new tyres a few weeks back it also has 10months tax & MOT.

Seems steep for me considering the milage.

Here's the link to the auction http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290962138446? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as you can see it does look in fantastic condition.

Steep is the word!!!
When I looked at the ebay page, on the 'other people also looked at' suggestions was an 06 one with 'low' mileage for £1595

the sprint model was the later version, using the same engine as your nexus.. after the makeover in 2005 it has only one front disk and now has the 15ltr tank, more room under the seat than your nexus as filter is at the side, 2005’s updates modernised the look and updated the frame and suspension as well.. it depends if you still going to do megga miles as its already done a few.. judging by the pics its been tidied up for sale and generally when you see them in the flesh they aren't as tidy.. at that mileage i would not touch without full..ish service history as you could end up buying a money pit, just my opinion :D
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

if you need to trade in, then i would have a look at Kymco Xciting 500 its in shephards bush london dealer, only 1950 miles full mot and tax and dealer stamped full service history and i think it has abs.... very big seller in states as well, similar price to what you were looking at.... for a 2007 model ... just a though :D and this one looks like its only covered this milage as exhaust and engine etc and wheels do show this in photos if you zoom in...This updated model, note the “i” upgrades the scooter with automatic fuel injection which meets the Euro 3 standard. wont be around for long at this price... :D

Anybody had any experience with Malaguti? There's a Malaguti Madison K400 on ebay it's a bit old but looks in exceptional condition.

Trade the gixxer in for an X10.
New Italian better than ropey old eBay Italian imo.

I agree the Kymco Xciting 500 is a better buy. Kymco build great scoots.
