Winter glove recommendations

Try some handlebar muffs - much more effective than warm gloves alone.

Way better option, as you can use existing summer gloves with better feel and no matter what winter gloves you use they get wet and take an age to dry out. They may look hideous but are really effective and much cheaper option overall.

nothing without muffs! - recommend the turcano urbanos - after 5 winters wiv em wouldn't do without em - although I might need another pair...

I tried to wear all three layers at once, but couldn't dress the second hand.

I know this is no help at all, but my warmest pairs of gloves are a pair of Tech 7 gloves I got free with something else, and a completely anonymous pair I bought from a stall at some bike show or other! I presume the latter were someone's old models so sold off with the labels removed (they are quite well specced).

The other alternative to muffs is plastic over mitts - apart from being superb in the rain, they also make the glove warmer by insulating it from the wind.

I always buy my winter gloves a size bigger than I can squeeze into.

As it gets colder I wear another pair underneath depending on how cold it is, starting with thin glove liners, Ron Hill running gloves and then cheap "magic gloves", those very stretchy knit gloves from markets and cheapo shops- the stretch means they don't bulk up or slip so they are warm without being cumbersome/blocking feel and they don't soak up water

I did the mistake and got my gloves exactly my size. I should have went a size bigger to create a good layer of warm air between the glove liners.

I've got held 3 fingered gloves (http://www.visordown.com/product-featur ... 259-5.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) which don't provide much protection from the extreme cold so i wear them usually with inner heated gloves + tucano urbano muffs on the top.

However, held gloves are getting aged now so i've also been looking to get a decent pair of winter gloves. I was reading some reviews to find out suitable ones to a reasonable budget and narrowed them town to these two:

I have tried all sorts of winter gloves and bike muffs over the years and i found that lobster claw gloves were the best.

I used Mars Rukka gloves and Keis heated inners.

The Rukka's were absolutely waterproof: i put my hands in a bucket of water up to the cuff, and after 5 mins not a drop had got thru. Warm on their own, but moreso to stop wind and water which also cools you down.
Being a wuss, below 5 degreesC i'd start using the Keis, which takes care of the cold side.

Great comob, as i didnt like muffs for their constraining nature, and solid thru a good number of winters.

my oxford bone dry are good in winter, i found these OXFORD BONE DRY WATERPROOF TRI DIGIT THERMAL MOTORCYCLE MOTORBIKE CLAW GLOVES on ebay new for only £13.99 from ghostbikes on offer... they have size S... XS but more importantly XXL (12cm) in stock normally £25 so a good bargain
