Re: 2011 Piaggio typhoon 125 4 stroke
I thought the eariler Italian maxi scoots used Honda/yamaha/suzuki engines. Malaguti used a license built Suzuki burgman engine for the madison 400, yamaha 250 for the madison 250 the Italjet Jupiter 250 used a yamaha 250. Aprilia also used a Yamaha 250 on the Leonardo and piaggio used honda 250 motors on the hexagon 250 and SL X9 before developing their own engines.
Honda/yamaha/suzuki use(d) there own engines.
Whilst Peugeot (not now though) and Malaguti (now) use Piaggio engines.

At the time Piaggio were using 250 Honda I don't think they even had a 125 water cooled 4 stroke .I remember X9 250 was out before a 125 or the 500 version .Hexagon had the Honda Helix upright engine X9 had the flat 4 valve Forsite engine .
