Anyone test ridden a Honda NC700S or X DCT

Post by Brimma »

Just wondering what opinion anyone has of them

I've got a DSG car, and this seems to be the motorcycling equivalent

I had a NC700X DCT. Great bike to ride handling and brakes good, engine and box brilliant. I left it in drive most of the time and you can change down with your thumb when you need power to overtake or get more engine braking. Comfy for a taller rider like me at 6'3" especially with a Shad Comfort seat.
Only down side is the chain is a 520 which is a bit puny although I never had a problem with it, others have reported having to change them at low mileages. I think the manual ones probably had the most problems.
The storage compartment has 21 ltrs of space which I supplemented with a topbox.
Overall the DCT version is a great bike to ride and I'd have another, although the 750 is coming out next year with rumours that it has a fair bit more power so I'll wait and see. icon_wink-.gif Wales.gif

Vespa GTS300 Super for practical runabout, Triumph Tiger Explorer for conquering the planet. Car almost obsolete.

Thanks for the quick response

What made you get rid of it, just out of interest?

I test rode a dct x, didn't like it at all.
Engine very coarse and vibey, gearbox jerky and no way I could find to stop it banging down through all the gears when coming to a stop.
Seat and riding position very uncomfortable for my taste.
Plus points would be fuel economy and service interval, but the Forza has that along with smoothness, comfort and better storage.
Much cheaper too.

I'm a serial bike changer and put it towards my Yamaha Super Tenere. icon_wink-.gif Wales.gif
