Yet the burgman 650 which for the last 10 years has been rated the biggest best touring maxi scoot has a tiptronic gearbox, as in this new honda.

I think I would agree with that definition, the main thing being the larger engine size.Changing the subject now, I have owned 27 motorbikes since 1955 which included a Lambretta & a Vespa in the late 50,s & then a 250 & 400/450 ? X9 Piaggios. As was customary I always nodded to other bikers on the road, but since selling my BMW 650GS this year that seems to have stopped, I get ignored.I thought we were ALL bikers.!!!!! Has anybody else noticed this ??Could it be that I wear a textile suit & don't prance around in colourful leathers with kneesliders.

off topic now.. i nod to everyone.. yet i find its the older 25+ on 125`s etc with aprons on etc that ignore you, the 50cc kids nod and beep.. and most older bikers.. i reckon its the commuters whom see it as a transport solution rather than love and enjoyment that dont acknowledge you as another rider :D
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

old duffers high fiveing on a bus   ,
I stopped nodding to other bikers when I got into scoots, from a distance if they thought I was on a bike Id get a nod, but nodding to a scooterist!!!!! . That doesnt go down well with the leather studded waistcoat, or apache murialed petrol tank.
I did get a nod on me honda 90 last week, but the biker was on his own, and he probably did five 'hail marys' when he got home.

Shame theres not a "PINK" seat version lol . Actually i really like it apart from it being a single seater ,but the 200 rear tire is a bit of over kill and bloody expensive to replace .Very judge dred .

I'm all for futuristic "Akira" style bikes but I guess maxi scoots is as far I go.
I doubt I'd get something like this but maybe it's just wrong timing for me as I'd like something more pure, like a Supermoto. At least at the moment.

The Vultus is a modified CTX by the looks of it.
I am of the same opinion. Though we do like to categorise. And the line between scooters and conventional bikes is getting thinner and thinner. Maybe because they are all motorcycles after all.

The definition of a scooter is based on its frame. (official internationally agreed definition)
No direct structural member between the seat base and headstock makes it a scooter.
Transmission, foot supports etc don't make any difference
WE ARE THE BURG resistance is futile
