It would be interesting to see how many 600s MotoGB is bringing in. I recall ringing them up about my GTS300 a couple of years ago and when I eventually got through to someone who knew what their stock level was he expressed dismay that he'd sold so many as there were only 2 left at their office.

I'll also be looking to hear what the stock windscreen is like and how it performs at 60-70mph (GPS) which is where my GTS300 normally sits on the way to work, only sometimes nudging 140kmh on the clocks, usually indicated 110-130, and also at the important 100kmh (indicated) speed which is a great speed to tour France and drive A roads at.

Only about 3 weeks til I get the X10, I'm dragging my feet a little as I have other things on but looking forward to that engine, clutch, technology and the huge amount of space!

Sounds like speculation and guessing to me Data ;). Perhaps the GS range is designed for the motoman style run-in then eh? ;) Of course transmission also has an effect, you can't load an engine in the same way with an auto as it automatically stops you doing that. Have a look on youtube etc. about how the CVT works and you'll see it's quite different, or just try riding one. Additionally you have not addressed the main issue: your static tests are invalid because the bikes light weight prevents you from loading the engine for beyond about 10 seconds at a time, far less time in a 600.

Incidentally the avoidance of synthetic oil for running in is specifically mentioned by motoman: it is essential. As you seem to keep agreeing with his method I wonder what you actually have against it - is your dislike of it purely based on an invalid test you made in different conditions some time ago? Or do you object to the early oil change or perhaps the overlap between the book method and motomans that you just described?

Have a read again - perhaps you have misread something, and let me know what detail you actually disagree with because you have not said:

I am sure Steve mentioned that there were 5 in the first delivery, the Joymax looking like being the big seller. It will have the same screen as my 400 . It as 2 positions and on the tallest setting I find it works well and I am 6'2". I see Givi do a taller screen if required.

Interesting just looked on SYM UK site to see if there was any news about official launch date and I see the Matt black sports version which I have on order is no longer being listed, I wonder if there is a problem? I shall drop Steve a line.

It may be that the appeal of matt black is extremely limited.
Bright silver, Rosso Corsa, Brilliant yellow, Turquoise, so many decent colours out there being ignore.

That's one thing that attracts me to Vespa - they have some decent colours!! My Joyride used to be a souless joyless grey, like old tarmac. So much like old tarmac in fact that someone knocked it down in a car park and a got it professionally resprayed in Rosso Corsa - much cheaper than new panels (for their insurance company) and not a single driver has ever failed to notice it right away now, whereas before sometimes people saw it quite late with it's brilliant 'road surface' disguise.

I have heard from Steve it seems the Matt black got missed off when they redid the website again, it will be going back on Monday. It seems mine is still among the first batch arriving next week and Mac I have asked him if your Joymax is on the same ship.
