Fatal Crashes.

Post by Dave Weller »

Is some force trying to wipe out the motorcycle population, or is it just me noticing an unusual cluster of accidents.

That does sound to me a big bunch of riders trying to keep with each other coming to grief. Mind you its hard to comment when we don't have the full facts.

Modern communication technology means bad news travels near instantly.
Used to be if someone wiped themselves out in a bike crash it was local news, now its round the world at the speed of light.

Tis the summer season too. I think a lot of prats get their bikes out of the garage after not riding for a year, hoon around like lunatic wannabe tt riders and come to grief.

Not saying that's what caused the recent accidents though and all road users in general seem to behave worse when the sun is out.

Whatever happened, rip and I feel sorry for the loved ones left behind.

I'm starting to think that 1) The sports bikes are too light and fast for the average rider.
2) The average age of bikers is increasing, and concentration levels reduce with age.
3) We have people living here, that now enjoy faster cars and bikes for the first time.
4) Road surfaces are still bad
5) They are headcases and nothing will stop the speed freaks.

What ever it is, please ride safe and think of others, you have no right to break any of the rules in the highway code.

Plenty motorcycle fatalities in Aberdeenshire.
Not always older riders, not always fast bikes.
