Apologies
Apologies if it was a Muppet on the X9 yesterday trying to keep up to have a look at the Max, could not resist seeing how it would perform.

Re: Apologies
Don't worry about it just go ahead and enjoy the Max, if they want a look they'll have to catch it when it's parked up.

Re: Apologies
After visiting several dealers i think I've got one trying to get me a demo Maxi 600. Iam shopping around to buy a new bike. Iam amazed ,all the dealers are shocked to find that i put 40,000mls on my Silverwing in 4yrs. The bike is 6yr old now and only had 1,380mls after someone had it for 3yrs. The dealers tell me that it should have an average mileage for it's year, of 12,000mls. I keep telling them i bought the thing to ride it, not to polish it, or have it sat in my garage. Iam leaning towards the Burgman EX 650. I have in mind that this SYM thing may not be up to the kind of mileage i do, maybe i'll give it a miss till iam ready for changing again in 5yrs,by then, any problems should have been ironed out.

Re: Apologies
If it helps internationally SYM have an excellent reputation for rock solid reliability. The 400 is a big seller in Greece, Thialand and Australia countries with harsh Road conditions.

Re: Apologies
We have traffic wardens with SYM HD200 models approaching 90,000 kms.....
I know of 50cc two stroke Jets (old models) with 40,000 km
MaxSym 600 manage 40,000?
Would be barely run in by then!

Re: Apologies
I spoke to the local Sym dealer and got to say that I was not impressed would be a monumental understatement. Bought 2014 Burgman 650. Best biking move I ever made.

Re: Apologies
Plus the fact that the engine in the 600 Max is out of SYM's quad bike which has been in production for awhile now. I have no doubt whatsoever about the long term reliability of the 600 engine being anything other than brilliant.SYMUK wrote:We have traffic wardens with SYM HD200 models approaching 90,000 kms.....
