Re: RTA
Very bad news Funky, Are there any CCtv cameras around that might have picked you up? Get your self checked over mate as you can only claim for personnel damages for up to three years after the accident. You might start to feel better but inside there might be internal damages which may not show up for years later.

Wow, Funky...sorry to hear all this mate. Robs right, you are more important than the bike but it still hurts eh! I'm guessing that collectively we have considerable knowledge on here if you should need help. Let us all know how everything goes. Get well soon and try not to worry about stuff too much. It will get sorted!
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

No CCTV in that area. Just going through insurance/solicitor stuff now.

That's a shame that there's no CCTV cameras, that's just typical, the bike can be fixed, just make sure you're ok.

Re: RTA
Umm.. I think they might well write it off, I just went on yamahascooterspares on parts alone (not including nuts, bolts, clips and the yammy plastic rivets) I got to £1800... I would guess the time spent on it, if I were to do the work myself would be several hours, at £45 an hour say... £315... I don't know if there is any fork damage, wheel or frame damage where the front hit the trailer.
The only way I can see that I could have avoided this is to join the row of traffic to take the first exit in the left lane... or do what I did but allow at least 3 car lengths between me and the TP... if I had gone faster he may have T-boned me.
I only just had the TMax MOT'd the day before with no advisories so I knew every thing was functional
