just picked up my J300 SE ABS...am loving its looks
disappointed in the speedo being tiny MPH figures when your eye naturally goes to the outside dial in KPH!! (i have crap eyesight!) had to put a few small stickers on the glass to remind myself of my speed... am looking at replacing the standard screen but am stuck.... Puig or Givi... or try and fit the airstream movable part to my existing screen (anyone done that on a J300?)
i dont want to ruin its looks but the existing screen is crap for a six footer

welcome lad, if you want to fit the screen yourself, go for the Puig, as this screen uses the existing two hex bolts per side fitting method, the Givi incorporates a front bottom edge hanger plate with nut as well which means stripping the plastic front panels off and more of a pain to fit....
the cost of the airstream would be the same as the Puig, and would not be as effective, and you still would not have hand deflection. which i thought is a must against the standard screen

On the speedo, I quickly got used to it and now almost unconsciously translate the speeds from kph into mph:
60 = 40
80 = 50
100 = 60
120 = 70
I've been fine with the standard screen myself, but then I am a relative shortarse!
A few little tips for happy ownership:
- get some little black sticky plastic things for around the footwell as the plastic can scratch quite easily.
- you'll need a fairly stubby 12v adaptor as the socket is awkwardly angled
- if the seat does not open easily when you turn the key, apply a little downards pressure on the seat
- turning the key left opens the seat except when the engine is running. In which case push the key down first
- read the trip/odo setting section in the manual carefully, as it isn't intuitive
- the fuel gauge is inversely-exponential. The first segment goes after 70miles, the next THREE in the next 70 miles!
- if you want a topbox and aren't after top quality you can get them off Amazon. My 44litre was £26 inc delivery and came with a plate adaptor. Not pretty, but functional.
