Scotland September 2015

Post by syntec4 »

Hi all,

I'm planning a trip to Scotland for the first week in September as the kids will be back in school but the weather should still be decent. Probably a mixture of camping and Hotels. I have been looking at routes and will do a series of day rides to visit the Usual sites. The distance for each ride will be limited to around 150 miles a day so not too tiring and we'll be in front of a bar by early evening every day.
I have looked at some routes which will include a ferry to Skye and come back over the bridge then on to Applecross etc.

I'm thinking ride up on Monday and come back Friday.

If anyone would like to join me add your name to the reply and I'll start booking something.

Thanks
Lee.

Road to Mallaig from Fort William to get ferry to Skye is a cracker

Used to be a nightmare with kamikaze fish lorries coming at you in the middle of the road round blind corners.

Probably don't land as much fish at Mallaig nowadays.

Insect repellent needed - it's prime midge season!

Always seek the happy medium - she's out there, riding her scooter.

Citronella Oil is the only thing which will keep the Greater Highland Midge at bay.
