Nice pics Ged, as ever :D

Very much like this:

Looks like it took its inspiration from the Honda Trail 90, never seen one before.

Cheers, guys.

Jaz, I've never seen one before either. It ran well and sounded crisp and loud so I'm guessing that wasn't a standard pipe on it.

I couldn't trace the owner to ask about it at the Devil's Dyke stop.

Was 55cc a typo bud ? I ask because my younger had an SS65 (actually 63cc) with 4 speed gearbox & proper clutch lever.

Great pictures BTW :D

Awesome piccys, I'm fully in nostalgia mode, great! Had a mate with a Fantic Caballero and another with a Gilera 50 trail. Quite a few with FS1E's and a couple with Honda SS's. I went from a Garelli Bimatic straight to a ''real'' motorcycle, a CZ 125!

Hi bud, no typo, this was back in the early to mid 1960’s when Honda's were still a relative novelty on the roads. I don't think many 55cc bikes were sold and later when Honda brought out 70 and 90cc bikes who'd want one anyway.
Yep mid 60's pre C70/90 same time as I was on a 125 Benly R not got any pictures of his one, but had a dig & found the spec sheet ...

Yep, that's the kiddy, first bike I rode that had an electric starter motor, if there was a league for highest revving 125 4 stroke I reckon it would be near the top

The only Benly I remember was the CD200, but at 53 I'm just a youngster.
