make sure you get AOR14LGS and ask for the removable caps, can point you to the magnum tuning ones yet they take a couple of weeks from America :)
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

The item code I gave him was 'AOR14LGS-nc'

The no cap variety :)

Passed through 30,000 miles on the SH yesterday (only 13k by me) and treated it to new EBC front pads as I had an advisory on the MOT earlier this month.

Fashioned a new screen for the X9 from an old Burger 650 screen I had lying about, as my laminar lip on the standard X9 screen decide to part company going along the A303 last weekend. Also gave her an oil & filter change as I've just passed 5k miles on her since I bought her last March.

Picked up an OEM Triumph filter and sump washer so I can give the Street Triple an oil & filter change before I ride it over to Brittany in a couple of weeks time. This'll be the first DIY oil change, now she's outside warranty period, looks pretty straightforward and certainly no access issues.

Its been a while since I've posted, so thought I would let you know how I spent a couple of hours today.
I had recently test fitted my Termoscud to the Maxsym. Over all I am happy with the way it fits.
There were a couple of points I wasn't too happy with. Namely these were the anchor points using self tappers under the cubby lids and the board rubber mats, not exactly an easy on/off job.
I remember spaceprobe mentioning that he doesn't use the screws under the cubby doors, but relies on the lids to hold the straps in place. I duly tried this, and it did work, although there was a little bit of slippage present.
So with a nice cuppa I pondered on how to make fitting this more user friendly, and here is my solution.
I started by lengthening the webbing on the cubby straps (I have a roll left from a project some time ago gathering dust), chance would have it that it was the same width.
To each end of the straps I attached some 3M dual Lock (a platic type velcro - very strong grip), and also to the corresponding area inside the cubby holes. Now for this part of the job, it is literally just a few second to attach/detach.
Next part took a little more thought, replace the fitting system to the footboards, I just wasnt keen on the longer self tappers, and the bulky original rubber coated jobbies on the scud just didn't look right, and they were a pain to attach.
Right a good old dig around in my bit boxes...
My solution was two small brackets (from kitchen units I think), that fitted nicely under the rubber mats using the original screws.
To the outward side I fitted a small bolt and spacer to support the inner side of the scud.
Next was the test fit!
Everything ship shape and bristol fashion. The scud fits like a glove, and more importantly, literally just takes less than a minute to fit or remove.
The eagle eyed among you will notice that I haven't shown a fixing nut to the outside of the foot board brackets. Well I tested with plain washer and nut - this was a bit fiddly. So I have ordered some black plastic wing nuts for this part - ebay to the rescue again.
My intension was to only fit these brackets come the colder months, but they are so small and unobstrusive that I will leave them on.
Come Autumn & Winter, I can use my scud as and when required at a moments notice.
The pics I have attached will hopefully explain a tad better.
Ride safe and shiny side up
