Hello

Post by mcdcfc3 »

Good Morning. Not sure if I qualify to be on here but I ride a Kymco Downtown 125i. I ride with L Plates on a CBT but have passed Theory and Hazard and my Module One. Just Module Two to go. I live in Derbyshire and have followed the threads on here for some time. You seem like a great group of friends and I have learnt a lot from the posts. Here is my Scooter Image

You are obviously a sensible person since you ride a Taiwanese scooter, so most welcome.

Thanks everyone for the welcome . I rode Vespa and Lambretta in the 1970's and had an Aprilia Habana in 2005. Had a 9 year break and bought a Kymco Like 125 last year. In May I saw the Downtown at a dealer in Stoke on Trent and it was love at first sight. I chose Kymco through holidays in Greece. Almost every hire place had Kymco. I got talking to one of the owners who was from Leeds and he said they are virtually bullet proof. He showed me a 50cc hire scooter with 48000km on it which was still in service. My Downtown, although much heavier than the Kymco Like has much more power and handles beautifully. The quality of build seems really good. Bought it with 1300 miles on it and now just tripped 2000 miles. Hopefully it will last me for many more

Welcome. I have previously owned two Taiwanese Sym scooters. Both high milage but utterly reliable. Neither looked as smart as yours though.

Welcome. My previous one was the Downtown 300 so know it perfectly. I made 12000 miles until it got written off due to a "small" accident. Used it to commute a few times a week from Woking to central London, tough bit of kit! Good choice!
