Hi Pikey, went under the Marbella sign yesterday!
Keep promising myself to go to Gib, I love it, especially around the marina. Can't wait to get myself scootered up and off.

I'd buy it in Spain as well, a bit cheaper even. I did the opposite bought it in Spain and took it to Woking. Had it for over a year on Spanish reg and then changed it. It's not big deal really, just MOT and reg fees. Since headlights were valid for both sides didn't have to change anything. One thing took time was getting the CoC from the manufacturer, it was a kymco but had to be sent by the Spanish disti. In any case, maybe in Spain there's more to do because even registering a used car is expensive, just sold a 8000€ car and reg was 300 for the buyer

Just wanted to tell the story as I'd definitely buy it in Spain if that's where you're living

And yes, you can ride up to 125 with your car licence no cbt or equivalent whatsoever

Thanks for that Jorgem, Seems the way to go and like you say they are a lot cheaper here. Same amount in euros as pounds!

hi maxster, i would buy a new 114cc yamaha delight as there at your budget
http://www.yamahamalaga.org/product.php ... =38&id=842
or a honda vision 110cc...
if you buy used it has to have an ITV (MOT to us) new scoots dont have an ITV for 5 years, then its as the used scoots every TWO years...
marbella has 10 scoot/bike dealers and quite central .... good luck

The price of the ITV test varies between provinces and according to the vehicle size.

New cars are first tested after four years and must be inspected and tested every two years thereafter until the age of 10
Any car over 10 years of age must be tested annually... we should do this
Motorcycles, mopeds and quad bikes are first tested after five years, after which the test is due every two years
Caravans are first tested at six years, after which the test is due every two years thats a good thing....
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Thanks for your reply Michael. I've decided on going back to UK and try and get a full mc licence and then get a bigger 400 for longer trips, I know it will be twice as much money but I feel money well spent. It would be great here on the open inland roads

And also, by law, privates and traders have to give warranty, 6 months and a year respectively. Private warranty is relatively though, it has to be something serious and obvious, hidden fault they call it
