There's a fair bit more to it than that.

Access to the battery and fuses does not require removing the seat bucket, the seat height and shape are superior, the engine is tuned for a bit more low down response, there are cut outs on the floor to make it easier to put your feet down, the dials are a lot easier to read and look gorgeous at night. The suspension has also been modified to give better handling.

And its available in colours other than white! The green/black SE is a real looker, in particular.

Is SYM as a manufacturer on a par with the Japanese (Yamaha, Kawasaki. ..) with regards to quality and build?

I think a Sym scooter will be better than a Honda built in Thailand
