Got two 650 Burgmans 2013 & 2014,there is a recall on the new shape models made up until January 2014,one of mine falls in to this catagory, the letter states
"As part of continuous improvement programme Suzuki has identified the possibility that contamination between the tappet and the cam may cause surface damage and could cause wear on the cam increasing the valve clearance. If the valve clearance becomes to large it can cause abnormal noises and in the worst case can cause the engine to stall."
The letter then goes on to state checks and any work needed to be done by authorised dealer at no cost to the owners ect ect

Steve,
Heard about this at the dealers for my "Strom" recall on Thursday. Apparently the rectification work is dependent on mileage.
Some guy who had a new Burg 650 was expected to only have about 1000 miles covered, when he said he'd done 11000 miles so far its appears to be a rebuild!!!! according to dealer
Suzuki appear to have dropped the ball on build quality of late as there appears to be recalls across the board no matter engine size.

Just had a letter for my 2015 400, but its been sent to the wrong owner. Ive sent it back, but in the meantime if anyone us riding PF13HFN you should be getting a recall letter.

Just been to my dealer to book the Burgman in for its warranty check, earliest date is Monday 18th July
Three hours to do the check, two days if the work needs to be done
The recall affects so many differents machines from the 650cc catagory, dealers have been inundated.

Unacceptable IMO what are Suzuki going to do are you supposed to be without your wheels till then or do they accept liability if things go "kerboom" if you keep riding.Stephen wrote:Just been to my dealer to book the Burgman in for its warranty check, earliest date is Monday 18th July![]()

Trouble is dealers always busy April onward as the "crotch rocket monkeys" stir from their winter hibernation and want to put another cafe ride out on their list

I guess/hope if the scooter goes bang before July,Suzuki will have to accept liability, the dealers would not be able to give out loan bikes to all its customers with the 650 engines awaiting the recall checks.
Having a quick glance on Burgmanusa, its the same there as well,i think they are struggling to get the cam repair kits in America,my dealer reckons they have plenty in stock in the UK
I should of asked how many checks they have done so far and how many actual repairs, although i doubt they would divulge that imformation.
