I'm looking at a 2000 Burgman 400 with 30k on the clock as my commuter hack.
Ive asked the seller if there are any issues, and he said its never let him down but when he starts it from cold and then stops soon after (at say a petrol station), it struggles to restart for a bit.
When warmed up there's no issues. Is this a sign of something serious?

When cold choke is working after that just crack throttle slightly I find that helps on carb engines

Would you believe it. Less than 24 hours of ownership and it wouldn't start leaving work. Seller reckoned it might be the battery as he suspected his charger was faulty, but after buying a decent battery today exactly the same. Hopefully just the starter motor, but a right pain in the arse

Could be regulator it went on last 1999 one I had check with multimeter once get it running rev right up make sure not over charging as will cook the battery

Thanks. I don't suppose you know where the starter motor is located and how you access it? I'm guessing from experience with other scooters that I may have to remove the seat storage to access
Re: Early Burgman 400 restarting issues before warm
Usually on top of engine .I'd eliminate charging problems first tho If I was you or even starter relay .
