Cheers Bern, that's fantastic got your email :)

I charged the new Yuasa battery overnight using my optimate charger. It was reading 13.2v before I put it back on the bike this morning.

It started! I was able to ride it home. So I'm now thinking that there could still be resistance on the starter that the old battery couldn't overcome, a charging issue with the bike or a crap battery. I'll check it over before risking going anywhere else!

As Pikey says eliminate possible charging probs before going down the mechanical route. I did find on my 400y - if you use the steering lock 1 click to the left locks the steering - 2 clicks puts on the parking light front and rear - this flattened my battery in a few hours :( Hope you sort yours soon.

Interesting fact, I have a Burgman 400 from 2000 and always wonder why there was a cable link to a bolt and then nothing. It broke and I never thought of it much. Where should I connect the opposite part to the bolt?

Thanks
