What an excellent day!

First, many thanks to Chris for an interesting and relatively leisurely ride, not least the additional leg to Flatford Mill and the backway route to the Premier Inn - much better that another thrash down the A12.

Second, many thanks to everyone for making me welcome; I hope you all got home safely and I hope it won't be the last time I ride with you.

The Pie & Mash, my first taste of the speciality, was even better than I'd hoped for based on previous descriptions.

I won't go on but it was all good, even the walking!

Here's to next year. :)

Good to meet you all folks and many thanks to Chris for leading and making an interesting route (always tough)

I especially liked the eating over the walking but as there's not photo of cake,it didn't happen lol

Unfortunately not this time Terry. It was a bit of fun though, wasn't it!

Got home in a smidge under four hours.
There was slow traffic on the M25 between the M40 and M4 (that's normal now) but I filtered easily as I did when necessary on the M3 although the traffic through the roadworks was flowing quite smoothly.
Stopped for petrol at Brentwood, stopped for a break at Fleet which was packed.

417.5 miles in total - it was worth it!
