Found that the quirky character that my X10 sometimes demonstrated was down to a sticky £5 relay, rather than any innate Italian character.
All that time (just over two years!) I thought that one of the circuits was a bit sensitive, whereas it was in fact a simple vibration required to shut off a relay properly, as a chance discovery yesterday revealed.
Without that faulty relay (which has been fault from new BTW) it would have been a 100% reliability record for the Piaggio over 6,000 miles and 2 years. Mind you it only surfaced now and again and was fairly easy to avoid, but still - very pleased to have solved that mystery
