Higher octane or not?

I have a car thats needs super & I stay clear of super market (super unleaded) as it makes my car pink.

That may explain the hideous colour of a Micra convertible near me.

BTW, I prefer buying super for cars and the bike.

Won't the super computerised FI systems used these days adjust for any differing grades of petrol anyway???

I don't believe the systems are that sophisticated and the tech required would add weight. Hence the hesitation some folk report.

Many car systems can adjust, scooters aren't usually as sophisticated.

BMWs have knock sensors but I don't know if they have them on their scooters.

I've found any scoot I've had has actually run worse on higher octane/premium fuel. 95 for me all the way!

There's insufficient benefit to justify the extra cost. Scooters are designed to run on bog-standard petrol. And they do.

I failed to say I use Esso 95 octane, not 98/Super or whatever it is.

Don't matter where you buy your petrol,if you believe supermarket fuel is inferior you probably believe in Father Christmas too

I don't think supermarkets, such as they were, sold petrol for the first few years I owned a car so that when they did and I bought it I did notice a difference.
And yes, I do believe in Father Christmas; he's a man dressed in a red coat who gives presents at Christmas. I've been him.
