Updating the 650 Suspension

While away at Silverstone for the MotoGP I had a chance to really try out the Big Burg two up. Now wifey and I a rather chunky so I know it would wallow and be down on power but I was shocked and dismayed at how bad the rear shocks were on anything but straight roads. I know the Burg is only rated for a 300lb load (rider + gear, pillion + gear and luggage but other bike with similar limits have not had the issues I did. Even with the suspension on 5 it would bottom out so easily it was dangerous.
So time for updated shocks. If I remember, Hagon will make you a bespoke set to your requirements. It will cost a bit but the alternative is getting a bigger bike which I can not do currently due to a back injury (the whole reason I got rid of my XT1200 ).
Anyone else done this?

Pretty sure a mate upgraded to Hagons and was delighted, not 100% but think they were off the shelf and around two hundred pounds but was about 5 years back - best of luck.

I have a pair of Ohlins rears i was trying to get right for me, cost me almost a grand...i bought two extra sets of springs...then the guy i was dealing with left the suspender place and no one else could be bothered to help...mind i was only 9stone 12Lbs at the time.. Make me an offer...
Lyn. PS: done about 3 or 400 miles between the springs as i tried to match my weight to them.

Thanks but I have already ordered the Progressive ones. Hopefully they will turn up soon (they have to go from Holland to the uk supplier then to me)

They are now on the bike. Easy to fit and if you have just the right shaped ring spanner you do not need to remove the Tupperware. Solo riding the bike feels less wollowy in corners and I have only managed to get the centre stand down once. I have only tried it two up yesterday over a short run mostly in town but with it set on 4 the bike did not get the centre stand in contact with the ground at all. Still waggly two up in some situations but that is more to do with the long wheel base and having the weight biased to the rear
