Re: What scooter do you own PART NINE
Just got rid of the Burger 400 and got a much lighter '89 Honda FES250 with just 5500 miles and like new.....thanks to Bern, reliable sources say that there are only 27 of these Foresight's on the British register - and I got another (running) for spares, its the closest thing I could find to my Helix parted with 3 years ago.
Can't wait for delivery next week with new MOT.

Re: What scooter do you own PART NINE
I have a Sym Cruisym, but it's not on the list. When I returned to motorcycling in about 1998 what I really wanted was a 300 to 500cc bike, but there just weren't any. Scooters had disappeared and all you could get was a learner motorbike or 600cc upwards. I had various bikes before last year when I started trying 300s. KTM, Yamaha etc which surprised me with their performance. But as they lacked any luggage carrying capacity I have ended up with a maxi scooter. I must say that even though Sym are misrepresenting the cc through their teeth (OK they are blatantly lieing) it isn't a 300, it's 278cc so it should more accurately be called a 275, I am very impressed with the performance. It does all the speed limits comfortably and I haven't yet found out where full throttle is, I haven't needed or wanted to. 70 is just two years away in my age and that is fast enough, I am not in a death-defying hurry any more. It is soooooooo nice not having to change gear halfway round a corner, or pulling away at a road junction, and getting to your destination able to put coat and helmet under the seat and go for a walk round.
