Thanks Mate. Getting a new knee wednesday so should be as unfit as I was a couple of years ago afterwards!Dave Weller wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 9:45 am Watch out there's a Pikey about, but seriously he has had a few so could impart his wealth of knowledge. I had a 2009 one, because by then it was a sorted scoot.
Nice to see you back, hope the health issues get sorted for you soon.

Hope it all goes well, expect a fair amount of pain management after the op, as they said to my wife it's a 'brutal' operation, their words. It will take time to enjoy the benefits but worth it. You may even enjoy wearing the stockings.
Good luck, a Burgman or SH300 will probably be the best mobility scooters in the short term.

Re: Burgman 400 buying advice sought?
Picked it up today. Its been languishing in a garage for over a year and it showed, flattish tyres made the short ride home interesting! Despite having a new battery it failed to start half hour after i'd ridden it the 5 miles home! Its now steadily taking a charge, but I assume the reg/rec is probably knackered, i'll check with a meter tomorrow. Anyway, in a few weeks time i'll get to it and see whats what. Seemed pretty smooth on the ride home though, so I'm hopeful i can salvage it!

I wouldn't think a new battery would go amiss before you go down the reg/rec route.
If that gets sorted new tyres as the old ones will have flat spotted if it's not been moved about.
Happy days though, nothing like a bargain if it all works out (life doesn't often throw out a pearl)

Its got a new battery as he said the old one "wasn't holding a charge". I thought it more likely to be a charging issue. Th`read about it in the workshop forum now.
