Yeah took mine to school[work] yesterday because I was over at the junior school ,no where to park, didnt leave until midnight last night, rode back in the light snow, using 33% power ,not 1 slip/slide until I left in the car.capitano wrote: Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:49 pmThe advantage of an e-bike in that respect is that the extra weight of a decent lock barely makes a difference.smeghead wrote: Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:37 pm I bought an ABUS U lock, it comes with a wire too. I'm not planning on leaving it around for long whist I'm not there. A possible nip to the shops is all.![]()

If I commuted regularly by bicycle to a number of locations I would ideally leave a decent, heavy duty lock at each location.Meldrew wrote: Sat Feb 02, 2019 4:41 pm A fancy Sold Secure U lock is completely useless if you don't carry it with you on the bike to use whenever you park up. Leaving it decorating a rail somewhere is not much good if an opportunist thief rides off on your unsecured bike while you nip into your local paper shop.
That way all I would need to carry would be a set of keys, and a smaller, lighter lock for odd short stops like the local paper shop.

Many locks and chains are so heavy that one needs almost a m/c or large box to carry them. I worry for my e-bike especially now with new battery fitted.
