Re: Sym tl500
Very interesting video. Chain drive would put me off. Too much info on the screen when all you need is the speedo and time showing. I noticed seat tips backward, a bit awkward with a top box I would have thought. Enough power in most 300/400 machines for our roads, and I prefer the single cylinder power unit, which ,on my cruisym 300, gives over 90MPG.

Re: Sym tl500
Sym even copy that feature of the Tmax! Its not a nuisance with a topbox....unless you want to mount a tailpack or similar on the pillion seat!Sylar wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2019 7:53 pm Very interesting video. Chain drive would put me off. Sounds like a Tmax because its the SAME basic 180 degree firing order with a 3rd dummy piston/balancer...with a 9,000 RPM Redline!
2009 Tmax with OODLES of upgrades!

That sentence sums up the whole sorry situation.MrGrumpy wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2019 6:21 pm If only the importers and dealer networks were up to selling and supporting either the Sym or Kymco!

Re: Sym tl500
My take on Sym is don't buy new so no need for dealers wait for bargain buys to come along .Looking for a maxsym 600 at moment to add to my Sym collection for next year .

Re: Sym tl500
What would worry me more about Sym is the Spare parts situation. From what I read on here, and conversations with the garage I deal with, getting spare parts through official channels is a nightmare, and utterly impossible for scoots more than a few years old.

I think body panels were the issue service parts or used parts no problem from Italian ebay or that Greek website for sym oem .
