Honda Sh300 or 2020 Sh125.

Very brief background. After 50+ years of high mileage motorcycling and buying a new 400 Burgman last year about August of last year I started for the first time to feel ill at ease on two wheels. Almost paranoia, expecting every car to drift to my side of the road, expecting wildlife to come running out from the trees, that sort of thing. Convinced myself that a little voice on my shoulder was telling me it was time to quit. And quit I did sold up absolutely everything. As the months have gone past initially I did not miss it one bit, certain I had done the right thing.

Move on to now. I am so very lucky to live at the foot of the North Pennines a beautiful part of our country with many minor roads that are little more than surfaced tracks.

Idea !!!! hows about a smallish scooter just to potter around the lanes on a sunny afternoon, that should scratch the itch that is starting to develop.

Sort list arrived at, Honda 2020 SH123 or Honda SH300.

Anyone had the experience of both, please.

Relevant facts, some pretty steep inclines around here. 50 to 60 cruising more than adequate, 29" inside leg and 10 stone in weight.

Any view would be very welcome.

I'm having same dilemma with Forza .65 this year 300 probably better buy but 125 bit lighter could see 10 year ownership on that .Looks easy diy servicing as well .Just sat on both and felt difference going from 125 to 300 .20 kg on paper .

the 2020 sh 125 looks like its going to be a great scoot, and Ive a soft spot for 125's, they are capable machines, a mate is going to Croatia on his c-125 this year.

Well similar to you really but I'm approaching 75 shortly. Cut a long story short, bought a 2019 pcx 125. I absolutely love it to bits. Cruises 55-60 all day. My pal a sprightly 65 has a 125 Forza nice bike but just too bulky for me (and him if he's honest). We often do 150 mile day trips, priceless! Weather permitting, couldn't consider an Sh because my old aching bones need feet forward. Good luck.

SH125 owner - London Commuting, and love the big wheel scoot, slimmer than the Forza and PCX etc...... experience tells me on my 125 55mph tops and 116 mpg...
If ya got hills and want to get up em over 40... go for the 300... a little heavier, a little less frugal, but longer service intervals...
If you just out for a potter 125 is great
2020 125 version is going to be 4 valve head rather than 2... maybe some deals on the outgoing '19 2 valve model when the 2020 is released...
PXed my XMax400 in for a NC750X... and kept the SH125...

If I had to have a single scoot - would more than likely be an SH300, then again the 125 does it all - just slower

i’m 70 and a knackered left arm ruled out much clutch use so I had to sell my bikes and buy a SH300. I love it and find the speed just right for coping with open-road and motorway traffic - and get 85mpg. For town work I’ve got a 13 year old Innova which had every plastic cover smashed off when stolen 12 years ago - it now looks so bad that no-one has shown the slightest interest in pinching it, but mechanically it is perfect.
