Many thanks again. I opened your link and I have purchased one of the keys with magnets. It must be worth a go before I order a complete new lock set.

It may be possible to work it out at least the positions in the key by using one of the
new magnets on the shutter socket.

While waiting for the key I thought I would read the Haynes manual in case I did need to strip the bike.
A piece in the body panel section caught my eye.
Not to go into details for the security of other people’s bikes but a very quick and easy solution was found, even with the steering lock in place. Shutter released with no damage to the shutter or ignition. Result. Again many thanks to all that replied.
