They appeared much higher like Ape bars, I wouldn’t have them on mine.

Thanks Jim, yes I read that one and saved it in favourites , makes an interesting read.Jimo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 9:52 pm Hi Andrew, it seem a shame that so many Helix are so far away but there must be good ones amongst them.
You may have read this article but in case you haven’t http://www.arthurlea.com/Helix.htm

Re: Newbie- Fallen in Love with the Helix
I noticed a blue one (in Germany I think) which had a cut down blue screen, which to the purist is a big no no but it extended the rake of the bodywork at the front and didnt look awful to be honest.
Re: Newbie- Fallen in Love with the Helix
I had a cut down screen on one of mine briefly, it was from a Fusion X like this one:

As you say, it looks good but the reality was any speed over 50mph had your ass sliding uphill onto the pillion seat

The best non-standard screen you can get for the Helix IMO is the Sprint Engineering one I have on my Fusion. It improves the handling in sidewinds (the Helix hates these) amongst other things.

Yes that looks something like it, really makes it look more like a Ski-doo .Jaz wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 7:36 pmI had a cut down screen on one of mine briefly, it was from a Fusion X like this one:

Laughing at your description of being blown backwards down the seat

Ill keep that bit of info about the Sprint Engineering screen handy as a point of reference.
Many moons ago a bloke I knew bought these solid alloy wheels for his Harley , they looked very impressive and he was very pleased with them until he rode across a bridge on the A1 on a windy day the bloody thing nearly took off sideways, essentially being very effective Yacht sails bolted onto each end of the bike.

Re: Newbie- Fallen in Love with the Helix
Cheers Jim, The scooters in the film that I had origiinally seen them in had no identifying marks so I was trying to discover what they were so researched online and as I got nearer to discovering the name of the model I actually watched this and knew that it was the one I was after. He's a very happy Helix rider and sells it well.
Re: Newbie- Fallen in Love with the Helix
This is a short video I took at the Helix's 25th birthday bash at the HGF Treffen in Marl, Germany back in 2011. All forms of Helix life are represented therein! My '86 Fusion is somewhere in the middle; it was the both the furthest travelled and the oldest CN to make the journey*.
*We'll not mention that it broke down on the way home
