My 2015 Burgman 400

Hello Everyone
I recently bought the above machine showing 6250 miles and full service history.
I wasn't expecting clutch judder when pulling away but it seems that is not too difficult to fix. The other thing that I notice is the headlight. It has an H7 bulb in the left light on dip, and a twin filament H4 on the right which only uses one filament for main beam. I see there are only two wires being used so this must be original. My question is , why fit a twin filament bulb and only use one of them?

The 2000 model I had was the same, I think it was likely to do with the thinking that 2 headlights close together
on a bike could at night be mistaken for the lights of a car much further away, the alternator is good for over 300w
so plenty of power, there were a few conversations about on the net a search may turn something up.

As for the juddering I found that parking it on the prop stand helped, I can only think that this allowed dust to
settle away from the swept area of the clutch shoes in the end I champherd the leading edges of the shoes.

Dr Pulley sliders cured all my juddering woes at a stroke.

sliders help for sure. judder can be glazing thats on the pads and them not biting into the bell. youll need to scuff up the bell and sand down the pads to remove the glazing from it.

bulbs on the b400 are like that. 1 is 55w/60w and the other is just high beams. stupid but yes thats how it is.

I found a simple twist of the throttle whilst holding the back brake works. About once a month. No probs

Yes I have tried that Stibbs, but it only seems to be a temporary solution and as I have a warranty with it I might as well get it put right.

With regard to the strange headlight set-up, I guess it would be too simple to take a live feed from the H7 bulb and connect it to the dip terminal on the H4 bulb.
