Which heated jacket .....??

Post by Exup170 »

Very new to the site so apologies if the question has already been asked but I’m in the market for some sturdy, affordable does what it says on the tin heated clothing . I wondered if anyone has info on brands too avoid or lean towards ?? I’ve got keis heated gloves and they work well but there are so many choices of jacket / body warmer , long or short sleeve etc etc that a good old recommendation is what I’m after . My daily commute is 60mile on my sh300 so I’m pretty protected ( large screen fitted) but me old bones could do with a bit of warming !!! Any info would be greatly appreciated 👍

Gerbing stuff is good and with a long sleeved Thermal vest from Damart worn underneath you will be toasty.

Keis heated gear is very good ,I have the waistcoat/body warmer with the full 3 temperature control ,it is like riding with the sun on your back all the time ....you will know what I mean .The gloves can be linked in as well .

+1 for the Keis waistcoat. It also draws an obscenely small current, so even my C90 has no trouble coping with it. 8-)

I use Warm and Safe Heated Base Layer Shirt and Heated Trouser Liners controlled by a Powerlet 2-channel remote controller (which means only one wire from bike to rider). They keep me comfortable throughout the winter and fit easily under my normal riding suit. I used to have a Chili waistcoat but, as I got older, I found my arms were getting too cold for comfort!

Not heated gear but useful and cheap are the heat pads you can get for hands and muscle pain, the hand warmers fit inside a glove and stay warm for 8 hours, about 70p from home bargains, the bigger stick on ones are better than a hot water bottle as they stay warm all night which was good on my last camping trip in September when everything was covered in frost in the morning. :o

Thanks for your replies, always good to get information from real world users !! 😀 thinking keis waist coat as I can get a duel plug in lead thing and also well happy with the gloves - probably not selling em in home bargains but my misses will love it when I surprise her with some heated pads - at 70p a pop, definitely brownie points earned 😜
