I have a Burgman 200 (2019 model) and I'm looking for a larger model with more go. I had a look at the Burgman 400 which is a narrower bike than my 200 and most importantly the under seat area may be a greater volume than the 200 but it is not so usable as the helmets sit vertically in the storage area rather than on their side like in the 200.
Can anyone suggest a 400 ish scooter with a reasonable seat and lots of space under the seat please most importantly?
Thanks

Re: Upgrade
There are various styles of Burger 400 over the years - the recent models are a bit smaller, but some previous models had the largest underseat seat size of almost any scoot there is! The very biggest was in the series 1 Burger 650, but that is a major upgrade. Most scoots tend to hold one full face helmet or a couple of open face ones. I think recent Forza 350s do hold two full face helmets. As always, you may sometimes find that some helmets fit but others don't.....

Re: Upgrade
I think you'd be lucky to get two full face helmets under a Forza seat. You can do it on a Piaggio Beverly 350 though (and there's a 400 coming out, isn't there?
Plan B is to get a scooter with a top box, which can take one or even two full face helmets. This means you would have more choice of scoots.

Don't think so! I must admit I never tried, but whilst its a decent space under there, its very similar to the Tmax - ample space for 1 helmet plus gloves and odds and ends. Unless different models of Bev have different spaces.....

Re: Upgrade
The blurb/reviews of the Forza 350 all say it's possible to get two helmets under the seat, depending on the particular helmets.

Re: Upgrade
Most manufacturers say that. But they never fitted (the silverwing is an exception). I assume manufacturers use XS helmets.

Re: Upgrade
Many thanks for the replies. I have a top box but when we go out we don't want to carry a load of "stuff" around with us. A medium open face and a small full face helmet and gloves and a pair of motorcycle ankle trainers under the seat. 2 x trousers and two "proper" jackets in the 37L top box. The other pair of boots I tuck under the bike as who wants to knick a pair of 13 boots?
The new 400 is far smaller than the 200 bike the seat is a lot narrower I will take a look at the Piaggio and the Forza and maybe the T/X max? The other question is how large a top box can you get away with?

I have 2015 burger. Loads of storage under seat. If I’m travelling I attach my Givi Maxia, huge storage. For added measure I carry a combination lock strap that threads through chin piece of helmets and attaches to grab rails so helmets are stored outside bike. They’re easy to store when not in use and take up no room. If you look around there are loads of options for storage.

Well....its not the size that matters but the weight! When I loaded the topbox up once on my Tmax I was surprised how differently it felt which such a rear weight bias. So I try to carry stuff under the seat and use the topbox for storing jackets etc when I'm off the bike. In general, you can never have too much storage space!freeride wrote: Sun Aug 08, 2021 6:35 pm MThe other question is how large a top box can you get away with?
