Hello Muppets Nice to meet you

Post by mohawkwarrior »

I have been a bike rider since 1975, Yes I am old (ish). Ridden everything Japanese, Honda ( Mainly ) kawasaki GTR 1000, Yamaha Thundercat ( Was my favourite ) Before an un-diagnosed knee problem (left Leg) made me lose muscle mass in my left leg and give up on the fun. Much to the amusment of my lads I kept falling over, especialy when any weight was put on my left leg, for instance kicking a ball with my right foot, left leg took the weight (not) next thing I knew I was on the floor, Taking a run at the steps at home, soon as left leg took the next step, down I would go.
After a 2 year abscence from biking, and a new knee cap and some physio, I decided to try a Honda silverwing. My thoughts on the subject was that my weak left leg only had to keep me upright and not have to change gears. Didn't really know how heavy these things are. So after a brief trial I sold that and got a Suzuki Burgman 250. Wow what a bike for handling. Light and brilliant cornering, and now I could put it on its main stand ( couldn't with the silverwing).
Highly impressed with the handling of the suzuki, what fun to ride. However after 3 years and my leg in a bit better shape (literally as well) I decided I wanted something a bit bigger. I have now taken on a Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive. What a bike, and what a ride. Same low centre of gravity as its smaller brother but more agile. I will probably annoy the silverwing owners but its a far better bike to handle the the silverwing in every aspect. Biking is now fun again.
There you have it a very breif (ish) intro.
Cheers
Chris
