Sym 400 belt change

Post by Dibble05 »

Hi everyone.

After having to say bye to my 650 Burger (long story!) I now have 2013 Maxsym 400. It needs a new belt etc. My local mechanic is happy to sort - very trusted - but has asked me to source parts. No probs getting hold of a belt but rollers (15g I believe) are neigh on impossible. Local Sym dealership charges the earth (£84.70 + VAT!) but will take over 8 weeks to get from China! Anybody know where I can source quickly (+ possibly cheaper!) - THANKS!

I'd go Dr Pulley but OE weight.
From experiance fitting DrP in Gilly VXR200, XMax250, XMax400 and SH125...

Hi Dibble - when I owned a Sym I sourced my parts from makinaparts.com in Greece - delivery is fairly swift and the prices very keen indeed - the genuine rollers for your bike can be had for under forty euro plus shipping of course - don’t forget to change the sliders too - the belt will probably be cheaper too

2 options.

either pay the high price if you need it pronto or wait it out and get dr pulley and wait the transit time. me personally, Im happy to support mom and pop shops but not with such differences in price

I would not buy oem but dr pulley which I have in my maxsym 600
https://drpulley.co/product/sliding-rol ... t-30x18-8/

14 or 15g oem weight I believe is 15g

and dont forget the sliding pieces
https://drpulley.co/product/slide-piece-ai/

and the sliding rollers are far more durable than the oem.

mine is on 13000miles and have not changed shape and within spec of 17g at 25x19
