Nursing the scoot to 20 years

Post by pontyburg »

Thanks for adding me.
I've owned my Burgman for about 10 years and it is approaching 20 now. It has been a great machine but seems to have started aging more recently.
There are definitely more miles left in it, and I'm looking forward to keeping it going.
Thanks

Hello pb, that is a good life span for any bike used regularly. As a new maxi owner myself this is encouraging! Interested to hear sometime what is ageing in particular...

Bore Da Ponty,
Snap!
Mine is an '05 reg AN400-K5, which I've only owned for 9 years. I bought originally because arthritis in my left hand makes operating a "normal" clutch lever a pain, after many years of motorcycling on some great bikes, I soon came to love the Burgman, it still makes me smile and goes well, with little trouble. (A baffle in the silencer rattles a bit and I'd like a bit more knee room) I guess at 82, it'll probably see me out!
Cheers,
Robin.
