The Vision is paid for and waiting to be registered and taxed before delivery on the 4th. March.

As you will know, the bike has to be insured before tax can be paid.

I approached my brokers yesterday who, to my dismay, informed me this morning that they were unable to find a company to insure me despite the fact I'm insured through them to ride the Forza. It seems that I am now too old for even that company to consider me. I assume that when that's due for renewal in October, they won't.

They wouldn't take on the NIU when I bought it so I phoned Bikesure who did.

I suggested to the pleasant man at Howden's that it was discrimination and that most of the employees of the companies weren't born when I took my Bike Test back in 2002. He admitted he wasn't!

Therefore, I phoned Bikesure, the upshot of which is that they have transferred the NIU cover to the Vision.

I had had it in mind to have all my insurance in the same place, my reason for asking Howden.

I discovered from listening to the menu, finger poised to press the correct number on the keypad, that Bikesure do a two-bike/vehicle policy so when the Forza is due for renewal I shall take advantage.

The icing on the cake is that it's cost me only £120.00 to do the deed so I've taken up the reduced excess offer for £40.00.
I have TPF&T cover.
The chap who dealt with me at Bikesure was first-class: patient, efficient, kind - just what I need these days.

I breathe again. ;)

Glad you got it all sorted Mike, insurance companies seem to be a law unto themselves (just my humble opinion 😁)they know everyone needs and seem to pick numbers randomly for prices,🤬🤬🤬

Thank you for reading my ramblings; I will endeavour tro post pictures in due course. :)
I love reading ramblings! It's how my brain works too. I can convince myself to buy anything really, whether it's the right thing or not, only my gf keeps my feet planted  ....until my next endeavour lol.

Very much looking forward to hearing all about your new Honda Vision. My sister at 57yrs old has booked her cbt for this month and i'm thinking a Vision would almost be a perfect bike for her. Only snag is she hopes to do a 100mile round trip every other weekend to see my Dad, which might stretch the scooter a little, so would love to hear your thoughts about it when it's delivered.

Well, here's the latest!
The Vision was delivered yesterday morning.
I was slightly anxious that the grey colour might be a bit dark - it's impossible to judge under showroom lights - but my fears are unfounded.
Honda Motorcycles had fitted a screen, and the legs shields I'd bought on Ebay and had sent to them.
I didn't go out on it yesterday so my maiden voyage will happen later this morning as I have an errand or two to run as well as time to spare to take pictures and so on.
It's quite windy - I'm used to what the North-East has to offer now and, of course, I'll be careful and it will be a good test.
I attached one sticker and will add the other two before I go out. I bought two custom name stickers and another 'Ugly Bunch' one to put on the top-box. That's the SHAD 40 I bought for HAL.
I will report back in due course.
As to travelling and distance; I have trawled Youtube for reviews and have come to the conclusion that the Vision is capable enough to do sensible trips - 100 mile round trips, for example. The recviewers all seem to be experienced riders, often of big bikes, so do know what they are talking about.
My semi-regualr trip to Newcastle Motorcycles takes me on A-Class dual carriageway and the A1(M). I can avoid the motorway although there's a 50 MPH limit where the rroadworks are at the moment and for a busy stretch round Newcastle.
I will definitely wear my H-Belt with the red flashing light on the back!
I'll do that trip soon so I can report back on that as well.

Thanks again for you interest and send best wishes for the CBT. ;)

Slight hitch yesterday on my first ride so slightly not-in-the-mood as a result to write a report but I will soon. ;)
