Re: Variator Xmax 125
I only tried the Mallosi variator once and that was in a Yamaha 250 engine. I can't say I was impressed and later had more success with Dr. Pulley weights. With a suitable reduction in weight compared to the originals the Dr. P. will allow the engine to achieve higher RPM during acceleration and in most cases they also provide a higher top speed because the shape gives an effective front pulley diameter which is slightly bigger once the variator halves are fully closed up. In my opinion a better return for less money. They also have a longer life than the standard roller weights.
