Sorry to hear about your unfortunate accident. Hope all is now well and see you are moving forward with perhaps another 2 wheeler. I'm throwing my hat in the ring with a suggestion of Honda Forza 350 or the ADV 350. Both great scooters..just as a suggestion for you to maybe test 'em out before your final decision. Keep us along on your journey.

Well, the T-max has already gone to Tmax heaven, with unknown people ripping any reusable parts off its carcass! I'm slowly getting better, but its a slow process. Am definitely considering an ADV350, given that roads round here in the lakes are incredibly narrow winding and rough, and getting beyond 30 seems like an achievement - not really the sort of roads that exploits the Tmax' abilities!

I think you are making the right move. As you know I’ve had a number of T Max's and now the ADV 350. Yes, I’ve had a weep hole issue with mine from new, as you will be aware, which I think has been resolved with a new pump and seals but fundamentally the bike is just a great all rounder. I miss the XMax suspension but that is about it.

Great economy, great riding position, great luggage space, comfortable seat, good wind protection although I have fitted a small deflector which improves things even more and the purchase price is still competitive.

Availability is good too. My local dealer has a new red one in stock!

Wow there's nothing worse than having an accident. Few weeks on from it now I'm sure your doing better, recovery is slow, and so is the mental health side of having an accident.
There's a lot going for smaller bikes nowadays, although if I was you, I'd probably look at getting you current bike thoroughly sorted and start using that for a while, it'll give you time to consider what direction you want to go regarding your next bike choice whilst still having 2 wheel transport to get about on in the mean time.

I've still got my other Tmax - I've ridden it a couple of times since the accident (though not far!), though I need my aches and pains to get better before I start thinking too much about the future. Went to a physiotherapist yesterday, who at least says he can see what the problem is and knows how to fix it, so that is hopeful.

Just seen this sorry you have had a nasty accident, plus your T Max totalled . It takes time to adjust after such a thing so go gently
By all means try something smaller , use your Mk 3 as well . The Mk 3 is a great bike , I have had 3 of them , my last was stolen and destroyed in a crime in Brighton. I would try one of the Mk 8’s . They are fantastic, really nice . Have all the toys but still a T Max . I have a 72 plate with full ohlins billet Akra etc . I love it . They are so useful and there are plenty of roads in the Lakes that would be fun on one . The NC500 is just up the road as well and that would be fun on a T Max . Give yourself time . Mr Grumpy should be on a T Max preferably a new one ! Treat yourself when you are up to it ! Hope you are getting better by the day

Thanks! I'm getting better though I have some residual aches and pains meaning that whilst I'm getting out and about, I'm not going very far. Its a bit annoying that whilst the Lake District is renowned for poor weather, since I moved here almost every day has been sunny and warm but I haven't been able to take advantage of it! Scoot wise, I will be hanging on to the mk3 Tmax, but have been thinking about a Honda ADV350. Its shocking how narrow, hilly twisty and rough serviced most Cumbrian backroads are, and getting to 30mph is a major achievement! The Tmax would be a bit wasted, and something a bit lighter to manhandle on slopes would be nice. Even the main routes are hardly smooth - some of the craters and bumps even upset the Tmax!
Only snag with a Honda is that the nearest dealers are miles away (Carlisle or Blackpool!). There is apparently a KTM dealer in Kendal, but I don't really think a KTM is the sort of bike for me, though one of their off-road bikes might be suitable for some local back lanes!

Depending on your location Crooks motorcycles Suzuki in Barrow don't know how much they do with scooters though.

There are a couple of bike dealers in Barrow - there's even a Yamaha dealer! Barrow is reachable from where I live, though I suspect not the quickest road. Crooks apparently now only sell (Suzuki) parts not bikes.
