My burger reaches 70mph, then I put it in overdrive (wish I never did the advance training, it acts as a rev limiter).
Is it wise to max out the scoot to find out if you need a new belt, one day you will get the answer!

I'd be interested to know if the K7-L1 is any faster.
oh thats interesting will keep an eye on it.. trouble is i dont often hit that speed lol

My Downtown does something similar. It used to cruise at 70 at about 6 thousand, but now it's 7 thousand.
I can't say it feels any different, it may be just the meter.

More probably it's because the belt is wearing. It's axiomatic. Decreased belt width = Higher revs to get to the same forward speed. The belt may be fine, just worn a bit narrower.

I second that on a K8.. mph has always been about 5miles less than my GPS and the rev limiter I have felt cut in .. in my wild days.. I dont speed so much as the petrol is too darned expensive too waste, never mind my life.

I still haven't finished the intial running in of my engine (just 850 miles still, no real riding time, too much work), but at indicated 70mph it's showing 6,400-6,500rpm on flat road in neutral wind. It's completely composed and relaxed doing that too. I haven't gps'd it but from what you guys and girls are saying my speedo is prolly 4-5mph fast and I'm really doing 65mph. What do you reckon?
