First one was free on the W800.
3750 mile one was under £50!

5 services in under 2000 miles

I know it looks bad. That's the downside of a long warranty and a Sunday afternoon rider.
To be fair, the first was only a 600 mile checkup anyway, but the warrenty conditions are every 6000 miles or 6months whichever comes soonest.
If I was using it for work every day, (and I wish I could!), then it could have been 18,000 miles by now, and then it looks OK!
It's a bit of a con really, 'cos I'll bet there aren't many people who do 12000 miles per year on a scooter.
There will be a few, but, even on here, I'm willing to bet it's a real minority.

Took the X9 to Tom/Cheeky at AR's in Lowestoft.
£20 labour for belt/roller change. Rememeber Tom does a good job (like cleaning the parts and filters and greasing the bolts).

I bought a new Kia Picanto for the wife in June2010. These are advertised with a 7 year warranty. The salesman said he got me a great deal on the servicing of Only £500 for the first 3years servicing. No thankyou. The car has not covered 5000mls yet!. When it needs an oil change etc, I'll do it. He said this would invalidate the warranty.I said it may invalidate YOUR warranty, it does not affect my statutory rights to expect a car advertised to last 7 years, to last 7years.I f i need to make a claim i would invoke my statutory right to expect value for my money. I used to be a salesman, and in other occupations attended courts so i am aware of my rights.

most of it is checking stuff, the only dirty part is going to be changing the oil so it'll cost me £5 for a new oil filter plus £7-10 for oil instead of Piaggio's extortionate pricing...
Though pads will probably need doing as well which would not be included in Piaggio's service costs anyway.

Funkeycowie, if you've never done an oil change before: Have something to catch the old oil in, i use an old roasting tray, as it is shallow enough to put under the engine and long enough to hold whatever comes out.Failing that, put an old plastic 4-5 litre can , cut the middle out of one side, leave the cap on. when drained oil needs to come out just take the cap off.Make sure Engine is warm(oil will flow better) Loosen or take out the filler cap, then remove drain plug. Remove old oil filter.Clean everything you can see. Replace drain plug after all old oil is out. Put new oil filter on ( remembering to run a drop of oil with you finger around the sealing ring of the new filter) tighten the oil filter as much as you can by hand ONLY, it will be tight enough. Refill with correct amount of oil. Run engine about 3-4 minutes. After stopping engine leave 3-4 minutes again. Recheck oil level, top up if needed to correct mark. Job done. I apologise if you did not need all this info i was only trying to help.
