Fix my Street is useless, the council here ignores them.

They should have written inspection routine and you are allowed to see when the inspections were carried out. If you have an accident involving a pothole on a stretch of road that has not been inspected according to the schedule you can claim even if it has been inspected if a subsequent report has been made they could still be liable.GTscootz wrote:Used to be the case that councils wouldn't pay out on damage caused through a pot-hole unless it was already reported. Their defence being, "How can we fix what we don't know about"....how it works these days I have no idea.
You need to get all the reports and inspection schedules.

Trashed the bearings on my left front wheel hitting a massive hole. Just could not get wider due to rather large lorry coming the other way.

Just been on a little mini tour to Southern Scotland...the roads are generally better there, but when they have bad bits, they really are appalling! Came across an absolute jagged nightmare of a pothole - a jagged chasm actually - somewhere in the middle of absolutely nowhere Eskdalemuir way. It was just over a hump so only saw it at last minute! God knows how I managed to avoid it! I must have passed within mm of the edge.
Its notable in the North Pennines area just how much worse the roads seem to be. The only smooth bit was preceded by a bumpy roads sign!
OT I know, but today I saw a sign at the side of the road saying 'Bird Boxes - going cheep' !!!

With our roads rapidly deteriorating to 3rd world standards, perhaps Yamaha will consider selling this concept in the UK.....

I like that with the knobbly tyres. Would be a fun green laning or snow commuting experienceMrGrumpy wrote:With our roads rapidly deteriorating to 3rd world standards, perhaps Yamaha will consider selling this concept in the UK.....
